119th Birthday Celebration
We are thrilled to share the highlights of our school’s 119th birthday celebration, which took place from the 5-7 August 2024. It was filled with joy, pride, and a sense of community as we commemorated this significant milestone in our school’s history.
Event Highlights:
- Birthday Bash: Our celebration began on Monday, 5th August 2024, with a grand celebration on the field. The school children performed a stirring rendition of the national anthem and school song, followed by a speech from our principal, Mr Shandu, who reflected on the school’s rich history and achievements over the years.
- Cake Cutting Ceremony: No birthday celebration is complete without cake! The event concluded with a grand cake-cutting ceremony, where learners and staff, gathered to sing “Happy Birthday” and enjoy a slice of delicious cake. A big thank you to the Avondale Spar who baked our enormous 120cm cake decorated in our school colours and logo.
- Learner Performances: Our talented learners showcased their skills through various performances, including dances, musical acts, and dramatic presentations that showcased our school as a true rainbow nation school.
- Interactive Activities: The 6-7 August 2024, included fun activities for our learners of all ages. Learners had fun inflatable rides on the field and fun was had by all.
The 119th birthday celebration was a testament to the strong bond between our school has. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event a success, including our dedicated staff, enthusiastic learners and supportive parents.
We look forward to continuing our journey together and creating more wonderful memories in the years to come. Thank you to everyone for being an integral part of our school’s family. Next year, we look forward to our 120th birthday bash.
